Okay, some of you out there who know La Gringa also know of La Gringa’s near irrational fear and loathing of cooking/media icon Rachael Ray. Well, somehow, La Gringa missed this brilliant bit of parody, originally published last year on Blogcritics. (Quoi? You do not READ Blogcritics? Pshaw! You must remedy that immediately.)
Ladies and gentleman and those of you who are currently in-between, Band Camp presents you with Rachael Ray & The End of Days. Enjoy!

Early morning scene in the Book Stud abode:
Cat: Hey.
Me: …
Cat: HEY!
Me: Bwuh?
Cat: You’re still here!
Me: Am I? Excellent.
Cat: Not in a metaphysical sense. It’s a weekday, the sun is up, and you’re still here!
Me: Yes. Mama was out very late failing to impress girls last night, and thus Project Look Good In A Wifebeater By May has been abandoned for the day.
Cat: Why were you failing to impress girls?
Me: Because mama is shy and also slightly deaf, and so when she has conversations with hot girls in loud clubs, she is guessing at a good 80% of what they say, which means her half of the conversation frequently makes absolutely no sense. Why am I referring to myself in the third person?
Cat: Because you are hungover.
Me: Ah.
Cat: But you used to go to this party all the time. You’d get home at 5 and go to work three hours later perfectly happy.
Me: Yes. I was less deaf then. Also less shy.
Cat: Mama, are you old?
Me: …shut up.
Cat: Does this mean I’m going to be a cat with a single parent forever?
Me: Cat. Shut up.
Cat: You’re hopeless.

Small But Mighty is brilliant.
She is small, with short blonde hair and incredibly ripped, well, everything.
I am tall, with medium length blonde hair and more lank than buff.
Last Halloween we’d planned to be Pinky and the Brain, but that fell through.
This year, nothing will stop us.
We will be Starbuck (left) and Six (middle).

I will need to lose about half my body weight, as the actress playing
Six is scarily cadaverous, and I may attempt to coax SMB into the bar bathrooms for debauchery for most of the night, as Starbuck is my Dream Girl, but these are small prices to pay for the glory that would be this costume idea. (Any dark-haired ladies who’d like to come along as Boomer (right)?)
SMB, I salute you.
